What to expect
Password-protecting a PDF encrypts its contents with AES-256, the strongest encryption PDF supports. Without the password the file can't be opened in any viewer, which makes it a sensible way to send payslips, medical letters or contracts by email.
Share the password separately from the file, for example by text message or phone, rather than in the same email. Choose something long that you don't use elsewhere.
We never store your password. It's used for this one conversion and deleted along with your file.
