What to expect

Tables in a PDF are just text and lines drawn on a page, so the converter looks for the grid: ruling lines, aligned columns and repeated row spacing. Each table it finds becomes a separate sheet named after its page, which makes long statements and reports easy to check against the original.

Pages without a detectable table aren't thrown away. Their text is placed on a sheet one line per row, so you can still copy what you need. Numbers arrive as values you can sum and sort, although currency symbols and thousands separators may need a quick Find and Replace depending on your region settings.

Bank statements, invoices and price lists usually convert cleanly. Tables that are images, as in scanned documents, need OCR first.

PDF to Excel FAQ

Does it keep each table separate?

Yes. Every table becomes its own sheet, named after the page it came from, so nothing gets merged into one giant grid.

What happens to pages without tables?

Their text is placed on a sheet with one line per row, so you still get the content instead of an empty workbook.

Can it read a scanned bank statement?

Scans contain pictures, not text. Run the PDF through OCR first so the numbers become real text, then convert it to Excel.

Will formulas be recreated?

No. A PDF only contains the results, not the formulas behind them, so you get the values and can add formulas yourself.
